Newbie Question about Events

Hello,
I have a report in an .aspx page. When the user expands the row the records
display correctly except when there are a ton of records (1500 or more).
Does anyone know a way to display the records in another page when the user
expands a row?

You can either use a subreport or you can use drill-through or Jump to
URL or Report (via right-clicking the cell/etc to jump through and
select the Navigation tab and link to a new report/etc). Hope this
helps.

Newbie Question

I inherited a 2000 Advanced Server SQL 2000 Ent, Active-Passive setup. The
architect never got it working correctly, so he turned off the second node
and just left it running of the primary. We've been having reporting errors
in our application so I checked to see if everything was up-to-date and the
SQL Installation was still at the RTM level, no SPs at all (no wonder he had
problems). Because it's the end of the year and we needed to fix the problem
ASAP I evicted the second node and ran SP3a on the primary node to get our
reports on time.
Now what I'd like to do is set the thing up correctly, but am unsure of how
to approach bringing the evicted node back online as a failover node and get
it up to SP3a.
I'd be happy to hire an expert for a few hours if one of you MVPs lives in
Southern California, or wants to do a conference call and thinks that my
situation is too messed up to fix via newsgroup. If there is a good book I
can read on SQL clustering I'd like to hear about that as well.

|||Yep.. That is the correct procedure. See 'Maintaining a Failover Cluster'
in BOL for a detailed version. Pretend your second node has failed
completely.

Newbie Q: Executing StoredProc?

hi all,
i just wonder if below storedproc will update record correctly if executed
concurrently by multiple user using
varying parameter value or it containe logic error.

The Syntax of the Storeprocedure (SP) shows that it would update all the
records in the Product table.
Is this what you want to achieve ?
If not, then add a where clause in the Update statement, where it would
contain one or more columns, that would together select a distinct row.
for example
CREATE PROCEDURE UpdateQTY @.QTY int,@.ProductID int
AS
UPDATE PRODUCT SET Quantity = Quantity + @.QTY
where productid = @.productid
GO
The above example would find a row with the matching Productid and update
the Qty field for it.

I missed one point in your question.
There will be no problems if multiple users call the SP simultaneously to
update the Product Table.
One more thing, is your QTY as integer or a numeric column. If it requires
to store decimal, then setting the parameter as int would make it to loose
its accuracy. So just make sure that the datatype of QTY matches that in
the table definition.
